Rep Barton Sworn In
Rep. Brent Barton Sworn into Office as 75th Oregon Legislature Convenes
SALEM – Rep. Brent Barton was sworn into office today, as the 75th Oregon Legislature convened in Salem. Rep. Barton is serving his first term as State Representative.
Of the incoming class of new members, Majority Leader Mary Nolan said, “We have such a gifted group of new legislators. As our majority expands, so does the breadth of talent within our caucus.”
Rep. Barton will serve as vice chair of the House Business and Labor Committee. Rep. Barton will also serve on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Consumer Protection Committee.
“I’m humbled by the opportunity to serve District 51. I will work toward finding common sense solutions to the problems that we are facing in the district and Oregon.”
Rep Barton represents Oregon House District 51, which contains Estacada, Damascus, and parts of Oregon City, Portland, Happy Valley, and Boring. Barton defeated incumbent Linda Flores to become the youngest member of the Oregon State House of Representatives. He is a third-generation Oregonian.
