My Candidacy for State Senate District 26
I am declaring my candidacy for Oregon Senate District 26. It’s been an honor to serve half of this Senate District in my current role in House District 51. As a candidate for the Senate seat, I vow to work harder to hear from more voters than ever.
As you may know, after a distinguished career in the Oregon Senate, on September 24 Senator Metsger announced he would not run for re-election. Senator Metsger will leave a gap of leadership that will be difficult to replace, but I promise to do everything I can every day to give Oregonians in Hood River and Clackamas County the leadership they deserve.
As I make my announcement, I want to thank Senator Metsger for everything he has done for Oregon and everything he has done for me. In my short time in the legislature, he has given me invaluable guidance to better represent the people in my district and all of Oregon.
Two years ago I decided to run to represent the people of House District 51. I knocked on more than 11,000 doors during the campaign, learning from voters on their doorstep. I’ve held dozens of coffees and town halls, always hearing voter concerns.
As representative of House District 51 in Salem, I always learned from my hundreds of conversations with constituents on how to better represent the people of my district. I worked across party lines to craft a bill that will prevent metal theft. I helped ensure critical transportation funds to reduce congestion, keeping jobs in Clackamas and shortening travel times for all of us. I am proud of many other legislative accomplishments, helping service disabled veterans, preventing prescription drug waste, and preserving education programs.
As your Senate candidate I will knock on more doors and hear from more voters. I will work even harder to learn from the voters in the district from the slopes of Mt Hood to the Clackamas River. If the voters decide upon me, as Senator I will continue to learn from my constituents how to better represent all the voters and prepare our district and all of Oregon for a prosperous future.
For me to be the best Senator I can be I will need your input and your help. Send me your ideas so I can better represent the voters of Oregon. If you have questions, simply reply to this email.

This is the beginning of a new race and I want to be your new voice in the Oregon Senate.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
